Reducing the Risk of Disease by Staying Healthy

Comments

Great post. I began working on preserving my health when I was about 18 years old. Lots of years of work but all very much worth it. A few years ago I found out my cholesterol was high. I studied all about it for a while and lowered my cholesterol 50 points. It was not so much what I stopped eating, but more importantly it was what I started eating. One book I read, explained how the kidneys and liver process what we consume and the effects food has on those organs. It even described how cellulite forms. The author doesn't claim that you can get rid of cellulite by doing xyz, but she mentions that some of her clients have noticed their cellulite disappearing. I gave it a shot and it worked! I feel like I have the most wonderful secret now! blah blah blah - I could go on forever!

Lisa-

What was the title of the book? Or is it still your carefully guarded secret? ;-) Curious minds want to know...

I don't know if I'd say prevented. It's more likely that the chances of suffering from said diseases can be lessened significantly. Good post. We all need to pay more attention to our health.

Indeed we do need to take into consideration the nee for being healthy on a daily basis. Not many people do take that seriously enough.

I've learned if I take at least moderately good care of myself...and don't get upset at the "mistakes" I stay healthy...and feel healthy too.

Michael,

I'm definitely with you on this.
Also, a key point you made was "moderation" in your activities.
Very good post.

Indeed. Excess at TIMEs is fabulous. Some of our temperaments crave it. Periodically.

Essential communication for building and sustaining the relationship.
